Most of us would not be drawn to a house with no curb appeal.
We would look at it, and drive right by. So when trying to sell a house, you have to pay attention to the way it looks on the outside. Taking time to groom the grounds, plant flowers or trim hedges is part of the process. It also includes how the actual house looks. Is the paint fresh, are there elements of the house that may need repair? Is the roof in good shape, do the outside lights work, is the entry well lit and are windows clean? We ask these questions when thinking about selling a house because those are some things people will look for when planning to buy. Anyone would tell you that curb appeal is important.

THE FLIP
We all know and understand the need for curb appeal. For a house, if you are selling, there is NO way you would fix up the outside and leave the inside a mess thinking that the outside alone will sell the house. At least not unless you plan to sell sight unseen and as is. We understand that no one is looking for a house that only looks good on the outside.
So with that in mind, why would we do that with our ourselves?
We buy clothes that flatters us and make up to enhance our features. We change things to make us look better and appealing to others. But why spend so much time and money, cutting our hair, waxing, trimming, coloring and changing things to make us look great on the outside, and leave the inside untouched?
Curb appeal draws you to a house, but what's inside will determine if anyone desires to stay. Why look good on the outside and overlook the area where LIFE happens?
The bible says:
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I
have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
It is good to consider how we look on the outside, but don't forget, people see and judge much from the outward appearance, but God is paying more to what is on the inside.
Take time to renovate your mind and work on the part of you that counts the most...the inside, then your overall appeal has substance.
